Hello! How are you? School is out for the summer and we have 6 weeks of holidays ahead of us. I’m not going to lie – school holidays are a struggle for us working parents. There are clubs, working from home days and holidays to juggle – and of course feeling guilty that you can’t spent the whole 6 weeks at home with your children. My kids love going to the holiday club – maybe it’s because they don’t know any different. They also get to spend time with their grandparents, which they love, and we will also have a couple of weeks off, so I guess it’s not too bad.
This week ….
Get together with friends
July is always a very busy month socially. Earlier in the week I went out for dinner with two blogging friends I’ve known for the past couple of years. It was really nice to catch up and put the blogging world to rights. It was such a nice and warm evening, and lovely walking by the Southbank on the way back to the tube. The Southbank is probably one of my favourite parts of London, there is always something going on and there are always new places to explore.
Ark Skincare
Ark Skincare sent me a few products for me to try. Their brand philosophy is that skin changes with age so it needs to be treated accordingly. They have 3 main lines targeted at different age ranges. I was sent a few products from their “Age Defend” line, suitable for those in their 30’s and 40’s. I’ve only been using the products for a week or so, but so far I’m quite impressed with them. I’ll let you know in a few weeks time how I’m getting on once I’ve tried them for a bit longer.
Olympus Pen E-PL9
I’ve been a fan of the Olympus Pen range for a few years and I’ve had the Olympus Pen E-PL7 for a while now. Olympus has an offer at the moment with a discount on the Pens and also some free lenses so I decided to upgrade. I will be selling my Pen E-PL7 and all the accessories which means the E-PL9 won’t cost much money at all.
I’ve only used it once but I’m pretty happy with the results, as you can see in the picture below.
Outdoor Hanging Chair
We just got ourselves a tree hanging chair! It’s a bit like a hammock, but hanging of a tree branch and it has cushions so it’s more like a chair. The idea is to sit and chill on it in the evenings, especially now that the weather is so nice. In reality I’m not sure how much time we will use it, the boys think it’s great and they keep sitting and spinning around on it. I’d like to think we will give it good use.
Hope you had a great week!
