Family get togethers and Christmas in July | My Weekly Round Up

Hello! How was your week? Hasn’t the weather been gorgeous?  Isn’t it amazing how the sunny weather makes you want to be out and about?  We spent most of the winter cooped inside so we are now making the most of the weekends.

The highlight of the week  was to get our new bed finally delivered, so exciting! We only need to get some curtains, some furniture  and we will be ready to move into our bedroom in the loft. You can read here some of my bedroom plans here.

This week we also…

Waddesdon Manor

On Saturday we had a family get together at Waddesdon Manor. The Summer Fest was held there over the weekend and there were lots of activities and  stalls for children and adults. Waddesdon Manor is one of our favourite places to visit – the kids love the playground and there are always fun activities going on. The kids had a chance to play with all their cousins, which doesn’t happen very often as some live a few hours away from us and the others in Australia. It’s a rare occurrence that the 7 cousins get to spend time with each other, so when they do, they have lots of fun

Christmas in July

This is the time of the year when all the brands are showcasing their Christmas range to the press, and now to bloggers too. I know, it’s a bit mad to be thinking of Christmas when we are still half way through the year but I guess it’s a time when magazines are starting to plan their winter issues.  On Thursday I popped over to see Dunelm Christmas range and it was gorgeous. I was really impressed, especially with their range of velvet chairs and also with their cute stocking fillers.

Curly hair and hot weather

As you know I follow the curly girl method and curly hair gets frizzier with hot / humid weather. I’ve been experimenting with glycerin free products and they have really made a difference to my hair. I have less frizz and my curls look really defined – you can read about it here. Maintaining curly hair requires a bit of trial an error.

This weekend we have a few kids parties lined up – do they ever stop? Hopefully the weather will continue to be great.

Next week I will be catching up with a couple of blogging friends I met at an event when I first started blogging, it will be lovely to meet them and have a bit of a gossip.

  1. Christmas in July, yikes. Not sure I’m ready for that just yet. I actually have 3 of their velvet chairs in my office, they’re lovely. I hope you had a great week
  2. Yes they do stop parties are a thing of the past for us, I used to love throwing parties for our boys but hated sitting at parties myself. Aw I missed the Christmas in July I loved it last year but have had so much on, sounds like you all had a fab family day x
