This is a funny time of the year isn’t it? Not warm enough to leave the house without a jacket but not cold enough to wear a coat. The same applies to shoes -sandals in October anyone? Too cold for them. However it’s not cold enough to wear boots, especially if you are like me and your feet get hot too quickly. So yes, deciding what to wear at the moment is not an easy task.
Layering always comes to mind when deciding what to wear in autumn. Pretty dresses worn with blazers and jackets are perfect for this transitioning time.
Biker jackets are all over the high street at the moment. They great for dressing up or down and the are also great for accessorizing with jewellery and oversized scarves. I got this faux one from Zara last year. I was initially a bit worried the colour might be too loud but in fact I’ve been wearing it quite a bit. It looks great with dresses but also with jeans and t-shirts.
Autumn should not only be about warm and earthy colours but also about bright ones. To make a statement go for red -the colour of the season, burgundy or green.
Real leather jackets are a great investment and will last for years but they can be a bit pricey. If you don’t want to spend too much money fake leather ones look great and are quite affordable.
If you are looking for inspiration these are some of my top picks from the high street.
