Looking after my skin has always been a priority, even more so since reaching my mid 40s. The older I get, the more conscious I am of the products I use, favouring those with natural ingredients that will help my skin as it ages.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery concentrate has been something I’ve been thinking of trying for a while but it’s price and consistency (I’m not keen on oils on my face) had put me off trying it earlier.
Now that I’ve caved in – I’ve been using it for the past month- I can finally understand the hype. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery concentrate is an overnight ointment that works to replenish your skin with moisture. Formulated with a blend of essential oils and distilled botanicals including lavender essential oil, evening primrose oil and squalene, it absorbs really quickly and helps to improve firmness and elasticity.
These days we all have hectic lives and not much time for looking after ourselves. Investing in products that don’t require much time or effort is key, and even better if they produce good results. This is a great product to add to your pre-bedtime routine; massage a couple of drops into your face and you’re ready to go.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery concentrate doesn’t feel greasy or heavy when applied, even on my dry to combination skin. Strong scents are something I try to avoid in cosmetics but the lavender smell is quite subtle and it disappears once the concentrate has been applied. Lavender is also renowned for its relaxing effects so it aids a good night’s sleep.
Yes, it’s not a cheap product. I got it on special offer on the plane on the way back from Spain for £30 (usually retailing at £38 in the UK). And as only 1 or 2 drops are needed, a bottle will go a long way. I’m sure it will last me for at least 6 months or more.
Is there anything better than a luxurious facial to end up your day with? Do I look 10 years younger? No, not yet, it’s probably early days to say, but my skin definitely feels softer and fresher in the mornings and that is good enough for me… for now!
