I find it hard to believe that it’s already the end of October. The months seem to be flying by at the moment, in fact I think this whole year has. Apparently it’s only 56 days to go until Christmas. Isn’t that mad?
It was half term for us last week. Unfortunately, being working parents we have to rely on holiday clubs and grandparents, so half term is often a bit stressful. We still manage to get out for dinner a couple of times and take a day off for a bit of sightseeing.
Last week we..
Visited the Tower of London
I’ve lived in London for 23 years and have only visited the Tower of London once, many years ago. We took last Friday off and took our youngest son as he’d never been there before. We had a great day out – the Tower of London is a great place to spend the day and I can’t recommend it enough.
We did a Yeoman Warder tour which made the experience even better. He made the experience really fun and had lots of stories about history and life in the Tower.
Even though the weather was grey and miserable we enjoyed the views from the Tower of London into Tower Bridge and the Thames which are quite stunning.
Days out like this make me realise how lucky we are to live in London and how lucky my kids are to grow up in such an amazing city. Now that they are a bit older I think we will be doing more sightseeing and days out with them so they can enjoy London.
Pumpkin Carving at Waddesdon Manor
I’ve mentioned our trips to Waddesdon Manor on the blog before. It’s a place we visit quite often as it’s a great meeting point for the family. Waddesdon Manor always has great activities for children, and we always visit during Halloween and do some pumpkin carving. We went on Saturday and unfortunately it rained heavily non stop which put a bit of dampener on the day.
Wore
The weather has been quite unpredictable, sunny one day and grey and miserable the next. I’ve been wearing my Stradivarius light coat. I got it a couple of years ago and it’s one of those pieces that I’ve been wearing more than I thought I would when I first bought it. With temperatures dropping I think that it’ll soon be time to get a warmer coat out though.
This week we are mainly looking forward to Halloween and going trick or treating. Halloween seems to be more and more popular every year and it’s great to see all the kids out and about having fun.
