Spring is here, Mother’s Day & Sit-UP event | My weekly round up

Happy Sunday! How is it the end of March already? I can’t believe how quickly the months are flying by. We are truly now into spring mode, the days are getting longer and the weather seems to be a bit warmer. The cherry trees are looking gorgeous at the moment, it seems like they have blossomed in the past couple of weeks and they are now full of flowers. My street looks amazing, with lots of them, all of different colours.

I finally published a tour of my master en-suite – you can read it here . I love the end result and I’m really pleased with how it looks. Photographing it was a bit of a challenge though – not only is it really small, but full of shiny surfaces. Also, the downside of having a brand new room is that it makes the rest of the house look quite scruffy!

I got a couple of these Oliver Bonas plant pots to go on top of the bathroom cabinet and I like them so much I might get some more to put on my kitchen.

Sit-Up Travel Event

This week I attended the Sit-Up (Social / Influencer Travel Event) in Central London. I’m not a travel blogger but it’s something I’m interested in, especially now that my children are getting older and we might be a bit more adventurous with our travels. I attended the event in the afternoon, and had a chance to speak to a couple of exhibitors and catch up with some friends I hadn’t seen for a while. Working full time means I don’t get to go to too many events, so I find them a bit daunting whenever I have the chance to attend as I don’t know many people.

It was a gorgeous day and walking back to the tube after the event made me realise how lucky I am to live in London. I should make the effort to venture into the West End more often. Funny how you take a place for granted once you have been living there for years.

Watched

I’ve been catching up on the first 4 seasons of Line of Duty – I can’t believe I missed them first time round. Looking forward to the new series starting tonight. Line of Duty is my favourite type of TV series, fast paced police drama. Let’s hope this new series doesn’t disappoint and is as good as the previous ones.

I’ve recently got “Hashtag Authentic” by Sara Tasker, while I don’t think it’s going to propel me into Instagram stardom it’s an interesting read full of tips and tricks. Sara’s weekly podcast – aimed at small business and creatives- is one of my favourite ones to listen to. I really recommend a listen, especially if you have a blog or interest in social media

.. And finally

It’s Mother’s Day today here in the UK so if you are a mother I hope you had a great day and got spoilt by your children or loved ones.

  1. Oh I have heard such good things about that book - I am tempted to buy it myself. I could do with a bit of Instagram inspiration. London looks beautiful and it is so nice to see some sunshine after a long Winter.
    1. It's a great book, it has beautiful pictures and I think it will be one to pick up from time to time
  2. Ah so sorry I missed you at Sit Up, we just decided to blog instead. You are sooo lucky living in London, I live in the countryside and love it, but city life is fab too x

    1. Hopefully we will catch up next time you are in London. I used to spend a lot of time in the West End before the boys were born, it's a bit more difficult now, but hopefully things will change as they are getting older
    1. You really need to watch Line of Duty, is really, really good. The plant pots are gorgeous, they do have bigger ones too which look amazing
  3. I love those plant pots Elena. Well done on going to the event, I'm the same with working full time I never get to go to any. Line of Duty is fab, although the fast paced nature sometimes gets me all confused with where the story is going. Have a great week
