As parents are really busy these days, and with the added draw of mobiles, tablets and TVs it can be difficult to re-connect with our children in a meaningful way through play. I find my children spend a bit too much time sitting in from of the TV after school so we now do a no TV evening once a week. Our no TV day is great as we play together, do jigsaws, colouring or we play games together.
Dr Margot Sunderland is a highly respected child psychologist and psychotherapist, Director of Education and Training at the Centre for Child Mental Health, and author of best selling and critically acclaimed parenting book ‘The Science of Parenting’.
