A couple of weeks ago a very exciting email landed in my inbox. AO were doing a gifting challenge were they had a list the 10 products they thought were going to be really popular at Christmas and wanted bloggers to pick gifts from that list for each other to give them a try. Think Secret Santa of the blogging world.
The lovely Lins from Boo and Maddie nominated me and I was thrilled to have to choose a gift for her. Lins blogs about renovating her 30’s home in South East London and even though she has a small kitchen I know she has plans to extend it in the future. I thought my gift would be really useful, especially once her house renovation is finished. You can see here what I got for her.
I was ecstatic when the item that Lins chose for me – De’Longhi Icona Micalite Espresso Coffee Machine was delivered last week. As a coffee lover I couldn’t have asked for a better gift.
Coffee culture seems to be getting quite big in the UK. We all enjoy having nice coffees out so it’s also nice to be able to recreate those nice lattes or americanos at home. The De’Longhi Icona Coffee Machine gives you the chance to do this. Not only it looks super stylish – in red metallic retro style- but it’s also quite compact, which is great if you haven’t got a lot of worktop space at home.
One of the things that sets this machine apart from their competitors it’s the option to use either ground coffee or pods. You can use ESE pods but you might also want to use your preferred brand of ground coffee. When it comes to kitchen appliances we all love easy to use ones, let’s face it, and nothing too complicated . I love how you can make delicious coffee at the press of a button (well, a couple of them).
The milk frothing option is really straight forward, easy to use and the most important thing it’s really easy to clean. You can make a capuccino or a latte as good as those in the coffee shops. We have used the machine non stop since we received it a couple of weeks ago and we are truly impressed with the quality of the coffee.
There a couple of little touches I really love about the machine. The space on the top can be used as a cup warmer / cup storage that looks really classy. And if you are using ground coffee there is a leveler which makes it look like a proper barista’s machine. These things make it really stand out.
From now on, there won’t be any need for us to go out for a coffee!
The De’Longhi Icona Micalite Espresso Coffee Machine retails at £199 but it could be one of the items included in AO’s Black Friday deals on the 24th November. Pop over to their page then to see what bargains are to be bagged.
