Hello! How are you? I can’t believe the school holidays are nearly over. September always feels a bit like a new year, back to school and back to work after some time off. I worked from home today, which I guess it’s a good way to easy myself back into my routine after 2 weeks off. The boys are back to school on Wednesday; I think it will be a shock to the system going back early nights and rushing in the mornings.
Last week…
Holiday
We’ve spent the past 2 weeks at my parent’s in Gijon, in Northern Spain . Northern Spain is a bit different from the holiday resorts people usually visit. The weather is a bit unpredictable, but still nice and usually milder than the UK. We have a very chilled time when we are at my parents, there is no rushing around and we spend time at the beach or catching up with friends.
Surfing
My home town is very popular with surfers and after seeing them on the beach, my 7 year old decided he wanted to give it a go so we booked him some lessons. I’m really proud of him; he was the youngest in the class and even though he understands Spanish he doesn’t speak much, but he was still happy to go for it. I don’t think I would have been that brave at his age. He loved his lessons so much he is already planning on doing more when we go back next summer.
Blogging Awards
My blog has been nominated in the Lifestyle category of the Amara Interior Awards which is a wonderful surprise. I’m extremely grateful to whoever thought to nominate me, and to everybody that reads my blog. It means quite a lot, especially as keeping a blog going when working full time it’s not easy. So thanks a lot for all your support, I really appreciate it.
The 6 nominated blogs with more votes will be shortlisted, so I’d appreciate it if you spare 2 minutes to vote for me here. There are huge bloggers nominated in my category, so I don’t think I stand much of a chance, but who knows!
Next weekend we’ll be celebrating my son’s 10 birthday, so we are on celebratory mode and countdown to the big day.
