We’ve recently had a living room make over, the old living room was tired and tatty and it really needed a bit of a revamp. The living room is now finished (post on that to follow) and we now need to start decorating it.
I wanted to share with you a few of the key decorative pieces we have got for the room so far.
1/ Carnival Light I am a bit obsessed with anything personalized, I also love letters and if I could my house will be full of them.
I love carnival lights and I know there are a lot of companies out there selling them. I discovered Bob & Blossom thanks to Instagram and I thought their lights were quite affordable compared to some others out there so I purchased mine from them.
The light sits on the mantelpiece and it’s always a hit whenever I feature it in my own Instagram account.
2/ Cable & Cotton String Lights I blame Pinterest for these! I kept seeing these lights a lot and I originally thought they’d be perfect to go around my fireplace but when I received them I realised they were far too big for it . I decided I’d use them on the corner of the living room instead.
The walls in the living room are magnolia and I really wanted to inject colour so these lights are perfect for that.
I have the Mexican combination but there are lot’s of other combinations or you can create your own.
3/ Table Lamp Ever since we thought of renovating the living room I had this idea of having a nice big table lamp to go on top of one of the shelves. I love lighting and I really like how you can change the mood in different rooms with different type of lights. I wanted something tall and big to be a focal point and I found this amazing light in John Lewis. I love the texture of the base and even though I wanted something taller I am pretty happy of how it looks in the living room.
These are the main pieces we have but I’m planning on getting some more bits and pieces. I need to get a colourful rug and some wall art, let me know if you have any recommendations.
What do you think of my key decorative pieces? Do you like them? Have you got anything like this in your living room?
