This week I attended the Amara Interior Blog Awards in the super stylish venue that is One Marylebone. I was nominated in the lifestyle category, but sadly I didn’t make the shortlist. I still got to attend as a plus one to Vikkie from The carpenter’s daughter -she actually won the DIY category. This is the second time I’ve attended one of their award ceremonies and they are pretty spectacular. Amara really know how to put a great party; everything from the venue, the food, the drinks and the host were truly amazing. The best thing about attending a blogging award party? You get to meet bloggers that you admire and have chatted to on social media for a while. This was the case for me with Rachel from The ordinary lovely and Jess from Jess Soothill. It really felt like I was meeting friends that I had known for a long time.

Read
I’ve had too many late nights this week and sadly not enough time to read. My copy of Ideal Homes arrived on Friday and love browsing through it. I’m in the middle of a loft extension and I’m looking for decor inspiration for my bedroom and en-suite.
Watched
I’ve been loving this season of The Greatest British Bake Off, so was quite excited for this week’s episode to see who the 3 finalists will be. I’m not a great baker but there is something fascinating about watching people make incredible creations and it’s amazing how talented they are. Not sure the 3 finalists have been the best throughout but they certainly make the best TV. I will definitely be watching on Tuesday to see who gets crowned winner.
Wore
Do you ever feel like you haven’t got anything nice to wear even though you have a wardrobe full of clothes? Do you feel like you have to wear something new whenever you go out? I’m sure most of us think like that and I really want to break that habit. I had wanted to get myself an outfit for the Amara Interior Blog Awards party but decided against it, and ended up wearing a lovely dress that I’ve only worn once since buying it 3 years ago.
Now that the weather is colder I’ve been wearing these Chelsea boots from Next quite a bit. I usually wear higher heels so I was in two minds about buying them but I’m really pleased I did. They are super comfortable and they come in a wide fit which is great for people like me who sometimes struggle with the standard widths.
I love the leopard print strip at the back and the gold elasticated gusset on the side. It gives them a really modern touch
And finally…
We visited Waddesdon Manor today – one of our favourite National Trust properties – that had a Halloween Fete. My boys got even more excited about Halloween and going trick or treating. Halloween seems to be getting bigger and bigger every year in the UK, don’t you think?
I love the look of your boots. I would never be brave enough to wear full on leopard print, but these look perfect. Your awards evening looks beautiful, and Jess and Rachel are just so lovely aren’t they. I have never met Jess in real life, but I just know she would be just as lovely as she is on her blog and on SM. Have a lovely week x
Congratulations on your nomination. Those photos of your evening at the awards do look fabulous. I love your boots, just the perfect amount of leopard print on them too. The UK is definitely going crazy for Halloween, we noticed when we moved back from abroad last year it had really exploded. Not that my kids are complaining of course! Have a great week!
