A few of my favourite bags

Some people are shoe or coat obsessed, but for me it’s all about handbags. Not sure where my obsession comes from but ever since I can remember I’ve always been interested in bags. What is it with bags? I guess with clothes you always need to worry about them fitting or not fitting but there is never that problem with handbags.

Every year I tell myself I will not spend any more money on bags and instead will save up to treat myself to a designer bag -hello Gucci Soho disco and Chanel 2.55 – but I fail miserably every single time. I just can’t help myself. Whenever I go online to check my favourite shops I always steer towards the handbag section first. I can probably tell you all the bags Zara have on their site at the moment.  Yes, I’m that sad.

Handbags are can really add the perfect finising touches to any outfit and you don’t really need to spend the earth to get nice ones.

These are the favourite bags I’m using at the moment. I say ‘at the moment’, cause if you ask me next month I’ll probably have moved on to different ones!

 The satchel

As a busy mum of two I need practical bags but also want them to be stylish and this one ticks all the boxes. It’s more of a weekend bag as it’s not big enough for work, but it’s ideal for when I’m out and about with my boys. It really reminds me of Mulberry’s classic satchel bags but without the price tag.

It’s from Massimo Dutti which is one of my favourite places in the high street to buy handbags.

The clutch

I discovered The Foundry Design through Instagram and I’ve been following them for the past year. I’m always keen to support British designers and I’m really pleased to see them doing well. Their animal print bags are gorgeous, so I was delighted when someone bought the dalmatian clutch as a Christmas present. Animal print looks great with any outfit and the pink tassel adds a fun touch.

The work one

I thought now that my children are a bit older I no longer would need to carry huge handbags with me… Wrong!  Somehow I seem to carry everything but the kitchen sink, especially during the week, in my work handbags. This Joules bag is one of my favourites at the moment – it’s not leather but it’s pretty good quality and it still looks good after using it for about a year. It’s a gorgeous colour which is perfect for summer when I love coloured handbags – but also great for winter.

The fun one

Because you need a fun bag in your collection, right? One that is not work or super smart but for days out and for whenever you don’t want to carry too much with you. This was gifted to me at a Next blogging event last summer, and it really makes a statement. Round bags are this season’s bag shape (yes that’s right) and this, together with the snake skin print, makes this one one I will be wearing a lot the next few months. favourite bags

What do you think about these bags? Are you a bag person like me?
