2016 was the year of the Scandi style, the comeback of copper and marble and the year we brought the indoors in. If you love Instagram as much as me you have probably seen these in your feed on a daily basis. Love them or hate them, those were some of the key trends of 2016. But will they still be around this year? With interior trends constantly changing this is something difficult to predict but I am sure some of them will still be popular in 2017.
Here are the top 5 interior styles I think we will see a lot in 2017:
Velvet
Velvet textures and fabrics in rich jewel tones like teal, emerald green and magenta will be a great hit this year. It’s all about the luxury, and giving an air of opulence to your home. It’s the time to be bold and out there with your decor choices.
I am very excited about this trend, I am a colour lover and I think we will see some beautiful decor pieces in the next few months.
Cork
Cork, yes, you’ve heard right. With eco-living being so important at the moment, natural and sustainable materials are becoming more and more popular. Cork has been billed the new marble and we will be seeing a lot of it in 2017.
Tropical
A few months ago I wrote a post about the tropical trend. It was very popular this summer and I am sure it will still see a lot of it in 2017. The bold, rich colours and fun designs are quite appealing and look good no matter your home style.
Jewel Tones
Forget about pastels, this is going to be the year of rich, vibrant colours. Expect to see a lot of citrine, amethyst, sapphire and emerald hues. These tones will bring a luxe and sophisticated tone to your home.
My bet is on jewel tones to be extremely popular this year. We will see an explosion of colour in interiors and it will be one trend I will love to embrace.

Scandi
Scandi style was a really popular in 2016 and I think it will still be quite popular this year. With Hygge being fashionable at the moment I can see the Scandi style being with us for quite a while. This is also a relatively cheap trend to create at home.
Overall I think 2017 will be quite a bold year in interiors. It will be a year to forget the pastels and embrace the colour, the deeper and brighter the better.
