Welcome to a new series on my blog, a weekly round up where I will give you a bit of an insight into my week, what I’ve been getting up to and hopefully you will get to know me a bit better.
At the moment we are getting into week 7 of a loft extension and after being without a roof for about 5 weeks things are finally moving and progressing pretty quickly. I knew having some building work would be stressful but didn’t realise it was going to be this stressful! I guess working full time and not being in the house during the day makes things more complicated. You never know if the builders are around and you are not in to discuss any changes or issues.
The weather this weekend has been amazing, clear blue skies and more like spring than autumn. We have been exploring the Hackney Wick area and had a walk around the canal, it was definitely a perfect day for it.
This is what else I’ve been up to this week:
Read
Apart from browsing bathroom brochures – the novelty is wearing off – this week I finished reading one of the best books I’ve read for a while: ‘You Let Me In’ by Lucy Clark. You know, one of those books you just can’t put down, a bit creepy and eerie that makes you feel a bit uneasy. It got me totally hooked staying until quite late every night trying to finish it. It’s a must read if you love thriller / mystery books. . I’m now looking forward to reading more books by Lucy Clark, hoping they will be as good or even better than this one.
Wore
It’s been a funny week weather wise, hasn’t it? Earlier in the week it was quite chilly, but the past couple of days have been really nice with clear blue skies. I never know what to wear at this time of the year, certainly not cold enough for a proper winter coat but not warm enough to not wear one.
I’ve been wearing my Zara leopard print dress quite a lot recently. I love the fact that it’s got long sleeves and a flattering cut and can be styled with a denim jacket for a casual look or with a coat for a more smart one.
Made
Not the healthiest but this week we baked Nutella Cookies. They are really easy to make, especially with children and they are yummy. They always go down a treat with my boys and there was a lot of bowl licking when we were making them. Might post the recipe on the blog shortly, I’m sure it will be a popular one!
You might remember that my blog was nominated for an Amara Interior Blogging Award in the Lifestyle category, even though I wasn’t shortlisted I will be attending the awards in a really swanky London location on Thursday. I’m really excited about it and should be able to fill you in next week.
