ARK Skincare, my favourite products

Now that I’m in my late 40’s, I’m keen to try new beauty products specific to my skin’s needs.  Pigmentation and lines are my main concern.  Of course I know there is no miracle cure, but I know I can prevent these issues with the right skin routine. I’ve been using ARK Skincare products for a couple of months now and I must say I’m a convert.

ARK Skincare treats skin primarily by age, which I guess makes sense.  My skin is now very different to how it was in my 20’s, therefore it makes sense that the products I use should be different. It also treats by skin concern, with their treatment products tackling everything from breakouts and redness to pigmentation and dullness. That sounds perfect, right? You can basically tailor your beauty routine to your specific age and skin’s needs.

I’ve been trying some products from their Defend range – aimed at over 30’s and 40’s.  They also have the Protect range for teens and 20’s, and the Defy range for over 50’s which boosts skin collagen production and minimises redness.

I wanted to share with you my favourite products from their range:

Age Defend Replenishing Moisturizer £35

I must confess I’m extremely fussy when it comes to trying new moisturizers, I have a couple of favourites which  keep going back to, and I’m very reluctant to try anything else. I like rich moisturizers that won’t leave my skin feeling greasy, and also those that are not heavily perfumed.

ARK’s skincare replenishing moisturizer is light with a delicate scent.  It contains kiwi and passion fruit lipids and is nourishing enough for my dry skin. This for me is a must in any beauty product; my skin has changed over the years but it’s still extremely dry in places, especially now in the summer after sun exposure.

Skin Protector SPF30 Primer £36

I wish I had used SPF more when I was younger . As I said earlier, pigmentation is a bit of a problem for me and I’m doing my utmost to try and prevent it getting worse. So SPF is a must, not just in summer but all year round. This is  great product, serving not just as a primer, but as a moisturiser and a sunscreen all in one.  It provides the all important UVA and UVB protection against rays, as well as serving as an antioxidant system for everyday skin defence.

This is such a great all round product, and I’ve been using it a lot the past few weeks. It’s not greasy and leaves my skin really soft, making it a great base for make up. My skin feels hydrated and it’s now became part of my daily beauty routine.

Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser £25

I haven’t been great at cleansing my skin the past couple of months, with summer and holidays I’ve been a bit lazy.  Shock horror, I’ve resorted to facial wipes from time to time. This is why, even though I love this cleanser, I haven’t tested it for long enough to have a firm opinion. It does smell amazing, and just like the moisturizer it’s gentle but leaves my skin well cleansed and refreshed.
