Today I’d like to share with you what’s in my make up bag. I’m by no means a beauty expert but I love having a nose at other people’s make up, so I thought you might want to have a look at mine.
There are two brands that feature heavily in my make up bag; Bobbi Brown and Kiko. I have been a fan of both of these for a while and even though they are far apart in price, they are not in quality or pretty packaging.
KIKO Skin Trainer CC Blur – It’s no secret how much I love Kiko’s products, not only are they affordable and great quality, but their packaging is super cute. I’m not really sure if cc creams really work but I really like this one; it has a soft paste-like consistency but it’s easy to apply. It really evens up the tone of my skin and gives it a bit of colour.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation– This has become my go-to foundation the past few months. It’s lightweight, buildable and goes easily from light to medium which is something I really look for when purchasing foundations. I don’t like heavy ones, but want something that will cover my skin pigmentation and dark spots. I truly regret all those years sitting in the sun with no sunscreen when I was a teenager.
Bobbi Brown Life of the Party Palette – I very rarely buy palettes as I never find enough shades I like on them to justify buying them. This is a bit of a different for me – all 4 shades are wearable. The mixture (combination) of brown and nudes are perfect to take me from day to night. This palette is great for everyday eye make up, but also for those occasions when I want to create a more dramatic look. The mini lipstick is super cute and has a very wearable red shade.
L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara – A make up artist friend recommended this mascara and it’s actually one of the best I’ve tried. It’s easy to apply and not flaky at all. The only downside is that it seems to dry pretty quickly so it doesn’t last too long.
KIKO Skin tone powder foundation I picked this pressed foundation a while ago when I was shopping in a rush (never shop with kids!) and I thought I was getting pressed powder and not foundation. Mistakes aside, I sometimes still use it as a pressed powder anyway. Thanks to the internal mirror and great packaging it’s also perfect to carry in my handbag to retouch my make up on the go.
So these are the main contents of my make up bag at the moment, they are all my go-to winter make up products. I tend to swap some of them in the summer, as I don’t need so much coverage, so I’ll do another post in a few months to show you those.
