Spring is finally on it’s way, we can now wave goodbye to jumpers and lots of layers and start thinking of lighter clothes. If you are a fashion lover like me, you have probably noticed the latest trend in the shops; ruffles and tie fronts.
Ruffles are everywhere at the moment, not just on shirts, but on dresses, tops, skirts and even trousers. It might not be a trend for everybody but ruffles look great and they add a bit of fun to formal dressing and work wear.
If you work in an office environment it’s always nice to wear something different and ruffles on shirts are perfect. I’ve got a few pieces recently but this is probably my favourite. It’s a formal shirt from H&M. It’s quite flattering, smart enough to wear to work but equally good to wear with jeans or dress down.
Here are some other favourite ruffled pieces
There is so much I love about this skirt, not only the ruffles but the gingham print -which is also on trend at the moment. The ruffles on the side are ideal to hide my non flat tummy…
Top Shop Gingham Ruffle Midi Skirt £39
Miss Selfridge Orange Asymmetric Ruffle Dress £39
Zara Frilled Hem Culottes £39.99
Tie fronts is another trend that is everywhere at the moment and it will only get more popular with summer around the corner. The best thing about tie fronts? They are really flattering as they accentuate the waist and if you are a mum, they hide that mum tum.
I got this shirt from Primark a few weeks ago and I have worn it a lot, it’s surprisingly great quality. It does look really smart even when worn with jeans and it’super soft.
Next in my wishlist are tie front trousers and maybe a dress, these are some of the pieces I have my eye on.
Warehouse Tie Front Shirt Dress £20
What do you think of these? Are you a ruffle or tie front lover? Do you own any pieces like these or have you got your eye on something similar?
