5 exciting interior trends for 2017

2016 was the year of the Scandi style, the comeback of copper and marble and the year we brought the indoors in. If you love Instagram as much as me you have probably seen these in your feed on a daily basis. Love them or hate them, those were some of the key trends of 2016. But will they still be around this year?  With interior trends constantly changing this is something difficult to predict but I am sure some of them will still be popular in 2017.

Here are the top 5 interior styles  I think we will see a lot in 2017:

Velvet

Velvet textures and fabrics in rich jewel tones like teal, emerald green and magenta will be a great hit this year.  It’s all about the luxury, and giving an air of opulence to your home. It’s the time to be bold and out there with your decor choices.

I am very excited about this trend, I am a colour lover and I think we will see some beautiful decor pieces in the next few months.Interior Trends

Creating a cosy bedroom this Christmas

This is the time of the year when we all want to feel all snug and warm in our bedrooms. When we want to spend lazy Sundays in bed, having cups of tea and enjoying reading books while we are nice and cosy.

Adding textures, layers and lighting will help you achieve that cosy Christmas look. You don’t need to spend a lot of money, just add a few accessories and your room will be ready for the festive season.

Swoon Editions Seymour nest of tables

If you are a regular reader of the blog you probably know we had a living room revamp earlier this year. We are really pleased with the end result and it was way much better than expected. The living room is now a really cosy space and we love spending time in it.

The only thing we had missing was a table. We had been looking for a coffee table, or a nest of tables for months. Everything we saw was either too expensive, too big or not really suited for the room. I kept changing my mind about what I wanted -anyone else the same? I guess these days with internet shopping the choices are endless so it’s harder to make a decision

A few weeks ago we came across the Seymour Side Tables from Swoon Editions and decided to go for them. A nest of tables with a glass top and  hand-painted frames with an antiqued brass effect.

Wall art with Posterlounge

If you are a regular reader of this blog you probably remember my living room revamp earlier this year, here. Apart from a coffee table (that is finally on order!) the only thing needed in the room was some wall art. I initially painted the walls magnolia.  Boring, I know, but the idea was to add lots of colour with accessories and wall art. Finding wall art, especially when you are not sure what your are looking for, is not easy.  Luckily Posterlounge came to my rescue and asked me to choose something from their site.

Posterlounge have an amazing range of prints and posters, there is something for everybody with a range of over 300,000 to choose from.  I was a bit overwhelmed initially by the wide choice available,I knew I wanted something colourful but I wasn’t sure exactly what.  Something modern, and big enough to look good as a standalone painting. Luckily you can browse Posterlounge’s site by room, style or by artist which makes things easier.
