As a family we try to make the most of any nice, sunny weekends and we always head to the seaside. One of our favourite places to visit in the UK is Broadstairs. With fine, beautiful sand, clear water and a nice promenade it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular resort.
We visited Broadstairs last Sunday and even though it wasn’t a really sunny day the kids still wanted to go to the beach. Isn’t it amazing how kids never feel the cold?
Having grown up in Spain I always find seaside resorts fascinating. I love the colourful beach huts and the idea of eating fish and chips on the go. The not so perfect weather never puts British people off and I love seeing kids paddling in the water even though it’s freezing.
Days on the beach nowadays are a bit different than before we had children. We still like to fit in a nice lunch and even some drinks, so finding an outfit that will be practical and will see me through the whole day is key.
Functional dresses that have a bit of shape are perfect to achieve the beach to bar look. I got this one from Warehouse earlier this summer (it’s now in the sale) and I have been wearing it a lot the past couple of months. It’s on trend, with one shoulder off, ruffles and it’s the perfect length. It’s great to wear on the beach and also smart enough for lunch or drinks in the afternoon.
Dresses with nice shape -not necessarily too fitted but not too lose either -are perfect to get you from the beach to the bar. You only need a nice pair of sandals and a straw bag or a clutch, to complete the look.
