Technology and the way we work have moved on quite a lot the past few years. I now work from home quite a bit so having a printer in my home office is essential. Both my children are at school and they seem to have endless projects and other bits and pieces that require printing. For many years I’ve had a printer that was very slow and the photo printing quality wasn’t great. Luckily Epson got in touch and asked I wanted to try one of their Epson ET-3600 Ecotank Printers.
The main feature of the ET-3600 printer is that is cartridge free – yes, that’s right, no more money spent on cartridges, and it comes with enough ink to last about two years. The printer has a built in tank that you just refill with ink as needed. This is not only great for money saving but is also eco-friendly.
Setting up the printer was really straight forward and easy. The first time you switch it on and fill the ink reservoirs you need to wait for a 20 minute initialisation process, but that’s all that needs to be done.
The printer has WiFi capabilities, which means you can print from anywhere as long as you have internet connection. This to me is the best selling point of the ET-3600. I have downloaded the Epson iPrint app and that enables me to print directly from my mobile or from a tablet. It’s a great feature, in the past if I wanted to print any pictures from my mobile I had to download them to my PC first and then print them from there.
The control panel is at the front of the printer and it’s simple and easy to use. It has a digital display and you can scroll up and down and select if you want to copy or scan or change your settings. We haven’t really used the copy or scan features yet but they will come handy in the future.
The Epson ET-3600 prints double sided, in relatively high-speed for a home printer and in colour. It has a pull out tray that can be adjusted to the require paper size, with a capacity to store 150 sheets and 20 photo sheets. It is also wireless which means that apart from the power cable there are no other cables needed.
We have been printing a fair bit since we got it and I am extremely pleased with the quality. It is a very handy printer with plenty of features to suit everybody.
